Holdwell

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

The short version

Holdwell keeps your life on your phone. There’s no Holdwell account, and we don’t have servers that store what you enter. We don’t see your tasks, your people, your photos, your journal, your vault or your cycle. We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

What stays on your phone

Everything you put into Holdwell is saved on your phone: your name and birthday, your areas, tasks, plans, people and their birthdays, sizes and phone numbers, meals, bills, upkeep, goals, moods, wins, journal, My Vault, memory photos, closet photos and everything else you add.

Because it lives on your phone, it may be included in your phone’s own backup (for example, iCloud Backup) if you’ve turned that on. Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy.

Energy and cycle information

Energy and cycle planning is off unless you turn it on. If you do, that information is saved only in your phone’s secure keychain, set so it stays on this device: it is not synced to iCloud, it cannot be restored onto a different phone, and it is never sent to us or anyone else. It never appears in widgets, notifications or on your lock screen, and it is never shared with people you share lists with. Unless you turn it off, Today shows a short energy note (like “Gentle day”) that never mentions your cycle. You can erase it any time from the Energy and cycle page.

We do not collect, share or sell consumer health data. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your clear permission first, as laws like Washington’s My Health My Data Act require.

What leaves your phone

Subscriptions: when you start a trial or subscribe, Apple (or Google) processes the payment. We use RevenueCat to check whether your membership is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, a random app ID and basic device information (like your phone model, software version and IP address). It does not receive your name, email or anything you write in Holdwell, and it is not used for ads or tracking.

What you choose to share: if you share something (like your wishlist or month in review), it goes to the app or person you pick. When you text a hand-off or your grocery list, Holdwell opens your own Messages app with the text filled in, and it is sent from your phone like any other text. Holdwell doesn’t send it or keep a copy.

Crash reports: if you’ve allowed your phone to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You control that in your phone’s settings.

Permissions Holdwell asks for

Calendars: to show events from the calendars already on your phone. Holdwell only reads them and never changes your events. Calendar information stays on your phone and is not sent to us.

Photos and camera: for memory photos, closet photos and Snap a flyer. Flyers are read on your phone; the image is not uploaded.

Notifications: for reminders, alarms, your morning brief and evening check-in. These are scheduled on your phone. Notifications and home screen widgets can show the titles of your plans and to-dos, so anyone who sees your screen may see them. They never show your journal, vault or cycle.

Face ID: to lock your journal, vault, memory book and cycle page. Face ID is handled by your phone; Holdwell never sees your face data.

You can turn any of these off at any time in your phone’s Settings.

Our website and email list

If you join the early-access list or newsletter at joinholdwell.com, we collect your email address. It is stored with our email provider, Resend, and used only to send you Holdwell news, your invitation, and occasional updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to hello@joinholdwell.com to be removed. We never sell your email address or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Holdwell is only for adults 18 and older and isn’t directed to children. You may add details about your own children to stay organized, and those details stay on your phone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Your choices and rights

Because your information stays on your phone, you’re in control of it. You can edit or delete anything in Holdwell, erase your energy and cycle data from its page, or erase everything with Settings > Start over. Deleting the app also deletes what’s in it. We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising.

Depending on where you live (for example, California, Washington and other states), you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. We hold very little, but you can contact us any time at hello@joinholdwell.com and we will respond as the law requires.

Keeping it safe

Your phone’s passcode and Face ID are the main protection for what’s in Holdwell, so please use them. You can also lock your journal, vault, memory book and cycle page with Face ID. No method of storage is perfect, but keeping your information off servers means there’s no Holdwell database to be breached.

Changes

If we change how Holdwell handles information, we’ll update this policy and its effective date, and tell you in the app before an important change takes effect.
